San Diego band Griever sling sludgy riffs at you accompanied by sludgy vocals and even sludgier bass and percussion. Melodic undertones and the rare chant in Black Vinyl Clouds round out their sound, when compared to the catchy sludge-fest that is The Forgetter. The songs slow down with Stag Hymn as lyrics are droned and then choked out while the song builds into Home Again, Alone Again; the ending that ties the EP up quite neatly in a melodically, sludgey, sing-songy bow. That last description might be hard to fathom, as those adjectives are almost paradoxical, but if you listen to Inferior you might think otherwise.
